Tools 69 High Country Tools cutters
Materials 10, with feeds and speeds for every tool
Requires Autodesk Fusion 360, current release

INTENDED MACHINES
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ShopSabre | Avid CNC | CAMaster | Axiom Pro

If your machine is not listed, identify your class by its drive
  system rather than its brand:

Ballscrew or rack-and-pinion on rails Rigid Hobby
Belts or V-wheels on aluminum extrusion Light Hobby
    3018-size desktop kit Ultralight Hobby
Welded steel frame, 3-5 hp spindle Business Class
Cast frame, servo drives, 7 hp and up Industrial

INSTALLATION
--------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. In Fusion 360, switch to the Manufacture workspace.
  2. Open the Manage tab and click Tool Library.
  3. Click Import, select HCT_fusion_Business-Class_v9.2.tools,
and choose a local library to import into.

Every tool arrives with one preset per material. Select the preset
matching your stock - each preset carries the feed rate, spindle
speed, depth of cut and stepover together.

MATERIALS
--------------------------------------------------------------------
  Hardwood
Hardwood - Dense (maple, oak, ash)
  Softwood (pine, cedar, fir)
  Plywood - Baltic birch
  Plywood - Melamine / laminate
  MDF / particleboard
  Acrylic / PVC (hard plastic)
HDPE / UHMW / nylon (soft plastic)
  Epoxy / resin
  Aluminum 6061

DATA SOURCE
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Feeds and speeds were measured in our shop on a Onefinity Elite
(Masso) Journeyman - the Rigid Hobby class - then scaled to
Business Class by a 1.40x feed and 1.30x depth factor.

That scale is engineering judgment rather than a measurement
taken on a machine of this class. Treat every value as a
  starting point.

The following are not based on in-house cutting:

Aluminum 6061 Derived from published tooling data. Use
air blast or mist, one or two flutes only,
and treat the shallow depth of cut as a
                       hard limit.

Dovetail and Cut at full depth in a single pass and
keyhole bits derived conservatively. Prove them in scrap
                       before production work.

CHANGES IN v9.2
--------------------------------------------------------------------
CUT-LENGTH RULE. Every tool is now checked against the bit we
measured (1/4" 2-flute, 1-1/4" flute): a longer or thinner tool that
would bend more at the same cut gets less depth per pass and a
little less feed. Biggest changes: 1/8" long and 1/8"-shank bits,
long O-flutes, 1/8" compressions and the small tapered ball noses.
Tool names now show the cut (flute) length.
Compression bits: the first pass reaches past the upcut flutes on
every class where that's safe; where it isn't, the preset says
ROUGH FIRST (rough with an upcut/downcut, then one full-depth
  compression finishing pass).
Fixed: 3/8" V-bit and 5 mm drill cut lengths; tapered ball nose
feeds are now keyed to the tip, not the shank.
Big bits on hobby machines: depth per pass trimmed to what the
spindle can actually push through a full-width cut.
Adaptive presets Every end mill also carries a "<Material> - Adaptive"
preset: a deep cut at a light stepover with a chip-thinned
feed, for Fusion 360's Adaptive Clearing. Pick it only for
adaptive toolpaths; the plain preset is for slots, profiles
                      and ordinary pockets.
BUSINESS CLASS FEEDS RE-BASED on published industrial router data
(Onsrud, Vortex, Amana, Freud, machine makers' charts). Relative to Rigid
Hobby: wood feeds 2.5x for 1/4" and smaller, 3.0x hardwood and 3.5x
sheet goods at 3/8"-1/2"; depth per pass 1.4x; feeds capped at 600 ipm.
Plastics, epoxy and aluminum are unchanged (1.4x feed, 1.3x depth):
the material, not the machine, sets their chip load. (v9.1.26 used
  1.40x / 1.30x for everything.)

TUNING
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Run the first pass as supplied. Increase the feed until you hear
chatter, reduce it by 10-15%, and save the result as your setting
for that material. Spindle power, workholding, tool stickout and
frame condition all affect the outcome.

SHARE YOUR RESULTS
--------------------------------------------------------------------
These libraries improve with real cutting data. If you tune a tool
and it performs well, send us the tool, material, machine, feed
rate, spindle speed and depth of cut. Verified customer data is
  incorporated into future releases.
